Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejed was arrested Saturday.

Ahmadinejad was reportedly placed on house arrest although there are rumblings he was sent to notorious Evin Prison.

Al Quds Al Arabi learned from reliable sources in Tehran that the authorities ordered the arrest of former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during his visit to the city of Shiraz and that the arrest was made with the approval of Supreme Leader Seyed Ali Khamenei after his remarks in Bushehr Described as inciting unrest.

It was learned that the authorities intended to impose house arrest on him.
