BREAKING: Steve Bannon Steps Down From Breitbart News Network

Steve Bannon stepped down from his post as the executive chairman of Breitbart News Tuesday.

Bannon helped build Breitbart into the largest conservative online publication in the world.

His presence will be missed.

Via Breitbart:

Bannon and Breitbart will work together on a smooth and orderly transition.

Bannon said, “I’m proud of what the Breitbart team has accomplished in so short a period of time in building out a world-class news platform.”

According to Breitbart CEO Larry Solov, “Steve is a valued part of our legacy, and we will always be grateful for his contributions, and what he has helped us to accomplish.”

UPDATE: Comment from The Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft:

Steve Bannon helped guide Breitbart through a very difficult period after the death of Andrew. Steve helped build Breitbart into a conservative powerhouse.

Steve is also a close personal friend who assisted me several times during my career. When I came down with a sepsis blood infection in 2013 Steve stepped in and helped keep The Gateway Pundit alive while I was deathly ill.  I treasure his friendship.

I wish all the best to Steve Bannon.
And I expect Breitbart to continue to lead the conservative movement here in the United States and abroad.

And the rodeo continues.
