AMAZING! 13 Elk Rescued from Freezing Water By Wyoming Locals (VIDEO)

On December 29, a man named Dusty Jones was on his way to work in Jackson, Wyoming when he saw a horrifying scene: a herd of elk collapsed, suddenly, through the ice of the Palisades reservoir.

Jones ran to the rescue and quickly called for a friend with a chainsaw to come and help out. A large group people joined in to help save the 13 elk that broke through the ice.

“Before you knew it, there were 30-40 people there,” Jones told East Idaho News, “We began cutting a little path toward the shore so the animals could walk out but they were so cold they couldn’t move. That’s when we just started grabbing them and pulling them out.”

“All elk survived,” Jones noted, “Great to see the community come together and help these animals.” The viral video has since been viewed over 685,000 times.
