After Kate Steinle Verdict, GOP Rep. Unveils Bill to Imprison Officials Who Do Not Enforce Federal Immigration Law

Republican Congressman, Todd Rokita of Indiana, introduced a bill that could put elected officials in prison for failing to enforce federal immigration law.

Rep. Rokita said on Fox News:

If they’re going to act like criminals themselves, if they’re going to put the interests of these illegal immigrant criminals above the safety of their own citizens, then we ought to lock them up.

Rokita introduced the “SLAP Act” on Friday, the “Stopping Lawless Actions of Politicians” Act, which states that politicians who refuse to enforce immigration laws, such as those in sanctuary cities, could face a $1 million fine and five years in prison. The bill was introduced shortly after the murder trial of Kate Steinle, who was killed by an illegal alien with a long criminal record, ended in a not-guilty verdict.

In 2015, Steinle was walking in San Francisco – a sanctuary city – when she was fatally shot and killed by illegal alien Jose Ines Garcia Zarate.

Rep. Rokita’s bill is a breath of fresh air and sanity after recent events make it seem that illegal aliens are insulated and protected by our system and politicians. Sanctuary cities have been proven time and time again to be dangerous for U.S. citizens. Kate Steinle, and the countless other women assaulted and abused by illegal aliens, are testaments to that.

Mr. Rokita’s bill would hold leftist politicians representing sanctuary cities accountable by fining and jailing them for not withholding the rule and sanctity of law – GOOD!

With Steinle’s murder trial ending in a not-guilty verdict, it seems our elected representatives don’t have their constituents’ best interests in mind… The “SLAP Act” would be there to remind these politicians just exactly who elected them:

The American people, not illegal aliens!
