Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya met with Glenn Simpson, co-founder of Fusion GPS, before and after she met with Donald Trump Jr. at Trump Tower in June.
Fox News reports:
The opposition research firm has faced renewed scrutiny after litigation revealed that the DNC and Hillary Clinton’s campaign paid for that research. Congressional Republicans have since questioned whether that politically financed research contributed to the FBI’s investigation of Russian collusion with the Trump campaign – making Fusion’s 2016 contacts with Russian interests all the more relevant.
But hours before the Trump Tower meeting on June 9, 2016, Fusion co-founder and ex-Wall Street Journal reporter Glenn Simpson was with Veselnitskaya in a Manhattan federal courtroom, a confidential source told Fox News. Court records reviewed by Fox News, email correspondence and published reports corroborate the pair’s presence together. The source told Fox News they also were together after the Trump Tower meeting.
As The Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft previously reported, at least three of the people at the meeting with Donald Trump Jr. were Fusion GPS officials.
From the court document: At least three of the individuals who attended a meeting with Donald Trump, Jr. at Trump Tower on June 9, 2016 – Soviet counterintelligence officer Rinat Akhmetshin, Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, and Russian-born interpreter Anatoloy Samochornov – also have ties to Fusion GPS dating to at least 2015.

The news raises new questions about the motive behind the meeting between Veselnitskaya and Trump Jr. Was the sit down organized as a way to entrap Trump Jr. under the guise of discussing the Magnitsky Act? The House Intelligence Committee has reached a deal to obtain Fusion GPS’s bank records after the firm behind the ‘Trump dossier,’ moved to block access. Unfortunately, the bank records will be confidential under sealed protective order.
The banking records may reveal if money changed hands between Fusion GPS and Veselnitskaya, which would further thicken a plot that would make the late author Tom Clancy blush.
