Neighbor Pleads NOT GUILTY in Vicious Ambush and Assault on Senator Rand Paul – After Breaking 6 of His Ribs

Senator Rand Paul (R-TN) suffered six broken ribs and a pleural effusion after he was ambushed and assaulted by a neighbor at his Kentucky home last Friday.

The attacker, Rene Boucher, a 59-year-old retired anesthesiologist, was charged with fourth-degree assault. Neighbor’s of the Republican lawmaker say reports that the incident was over a landscaping dispute is fake news.

Boucher tackled Senator Paul from behind and broke six of his ribs. He was released from jail the next day.

On Thursday Rene Boucher pleaded not guilty to assault on the US senator.

CNN reported:

The man who allegedly assaulted GOP Sen. Rand Paul outside his Kentucky residence pleaded not guilty Thursday to misdemeanor assault in the fourth degree at his arraignment in Bowling Green.

Rene Boucher allegedly tackled Paul, breaking six of his ribs and sustaining bruised lungs. There was no change to the charges and no change in bond.
The attorney representing Boucher said Monday that attacking the Kentucky Republican had “absolutely nothing” to do with politics.
