Tom Brady Speaks Out Against President Trump’s “Divisive” NFL Comments

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady came out against President Trump’s statements on the NFL Monday morning. “Yeah, I certainly disagree with what he said. I thought it was just divisive,” Brady told Boston’s WEEI hosts Kirk and Callahan.

WEEI reports:

Speaking Monday morning on Kirk & Callahan, Tom Brady, who linked arms with some of his teammates to show unity during the anthem, said he disagreed with what the president said.

“Yeah, I certainly disagree with what he said. I thought it was just divisive,” Brady said. “Like I said, I just want to support my teammates. I am never one to say, ‘Oh, that is wrong. That is right.’ I do believe in what I believe in. I believe in bringing people together and respect and love and trust. Those are the values that my parents instilled in me. That is how I try and live every day. I have been blessed to be in locker rooms with guys all over the United States over the course of my career. Some of my great friends are from Florida, Virginia, New York, Montana, Colorado, Texas. The one thing about football is it brings so many guys together — guys you would never have the opportunity to be around. Whether it was in college, and all the way into the pros. We’re all different, we’re all unique. That is what makes us all special.”

President Trump lashed out at NFL players protesting the national anthem on Friday while at a campaign rally for Senator Luther Strange (R-AL).

President Trump brought up the NFL players who disrespect our flag and our country by taking a knee during the National Anthem in protest.

The crowd went wild after Trump said, “Wouldn’t you love to see one of the NFL owners, when someone disrespects our flag, to say ‘get that son of b*tch off the field right now! Out! He’s fired! He’s fired!”

The crowd erupted into cheers and started chanting, “USA! USA! USA!”

On Saturday the NFL Commissioner lectured President Trump — not the players kneeling during the national anthem.

The Hill reported:

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell fired back at President Trump on Saturday for encouraging league owners to remove players who take a knee during the national anthem, saying Trump’s “divisive comments” show “an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL.”

President Trump then revoked Golden State’s Stephen Curry’s invitation to the White House on Saturday morning causing a chain reaction of fury from liberals and other athletes.

The great basketball player Curry has expressed concerns about going to the White House since winning the NBA Championship.

President Donald Trump tweeted this morning –

Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team.Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!
