FLASHBACK: Obama Refused to Declare Texas Wildfires a Disaster for 3 Mos.- Then Joked About It

Surely, you all remember this?

More than 1.2 million acres burnt up in the state of Texas in April 2011.

Governor Rick Perry and Republican senators called on President Obama to declare the region a disaster area.

It took Obama until July to finally recognize the fires a major disaster area. This allowed federal aid to supplement State and local recovery efforts in the area struck by wildfires during the period of April 6 to May 3, 2011.

And then shortly after he finally declared the region a disaster area Barack Obama joked about it at a Democrat fundraiser.

Barack Obama mocked Governor Rick Perry and Texas in September in a fundraiser speech to Democrats.

Obama joked about the Texas disaster in front of a group of liberal hacks.
The LA Times reported:

“You’ve got a governor whose state is on fire denying climate change. It’s true.”
