President Donald Trump won the November 8, 2016 election in an electoral landslide.
President Trump captured several states that have not voted Republican in decades.
Riding on his coattails the Republican Party also won back the House of Representatives and won a majority in the US Senate.
In spite of all this, you could easily see that Republican Leadership was not on board with the newly elected President. In every picture taken of Speaker Paul Ryan near the President, the leader of the House of Representatives looks miffed.
Speaker Ryan has some sort of evil disgruntled smirk on his face when he is with our President.
Speaker Ryan never supported President Trump before the election. Before the election Speaker Ryan gathered all House Republicans together on a conference call and announced that he would not defend President Trump, now or in the future.
Speaker Ryan was never behind candidate Trump or President Trump. When candidate Trump announced his tax plan after he was nominated the Republican candidate for President, Speaker Ryan announced his own plan.
There is no synergy between the House and President Trump since before the election. Initial observations would suggest that Speaker Ryan and his Congress are not behind the President. Speaker Ryan and his House may even be against the President.
The new Republican President wanted to pass tax cuts, repeal Obamacare and build a border wall in his first 100 days. But no matter how hard President Trump and his team worked, the Republican Congress was not going to work with him. They instead announced their own 200 day plan because they knew better.
It soon became clear that Ryan’s Congress was not going to play ball. They were getting nothing done and taking time off. They were not interested in helping President Trump reach his 100 day goals, they appeared to want him to fail. They were going to show him who was in charge.
On March 8, 2017 Speaker Paul Ryan reminded Tucker Carlson that Congress had a 200 day plan not the President’s 100 day plan.
Speaker Ryan told Tucker Carlson:
Let me just give you a sense of what we’re planning in the first 200 days:
* Repealing and replacing Obamacare, the biggest entitlement reform in a generation.
* Overhauling the IRS Tax code.
* Rebuilding the military.
* Doing infrastructure.
* Repealing harmful regulations.
* Repealing Dodd-Frank and the Choice Act which would replace it.
…and funding the wall is part of this too.
Speaker Ryan’s Congress began this session on January 3rd, 2017 which means Speaker Ryan’s 200 days came to an end yesterday on Saturday, July 22nd.
Little to nothing has been accomplished in spite of Congress being controlled by the same party as the President.
President Donald Trump has accomplished more than could ever be expected since his election.Â
The Stock Market is up 18% and in every major economic indicator the US is in better shape. Many of his goals have been met. (See list of accomplishments at 6 months here.)
What has Congress acheived?
* Obamacare is still in place and crushing Americans with huge insurance premiums and deductibles.
* The US tax code has not changed and Americans and American companies remain shackled with some of the highest taxes in the world. (The President proposed massive tax cuts that nearly all Americans are in favor of and yet nothing to date from Congress. They know better!)
* The US infrastructure is still broken. US Airports are worse than some third world countries.
* The President has removed many of the Obama era regulations but Dodd-Frank is still in place.
In addition Congressional Leaders stand back and watch the fake Russian Conspiracy story repeated hourly and say nothing. Rabid far left judges think they have the right to set the nation’s immigration policies and overturn Supreme Court rulings and Congress does not impeach. The list goes on and on. Overall Congress does little to nothing to support their President.
It is time for Speaker Ryan to step aside! Congress should have replaced him on day one of this session due to his efforts to sabotage President Trump during the campaign. Instead here we are with nothing material accomplished by this Speaker’s Congress.
There is so much to do. President Trump wants to help Americans but this Congress does not want to be a part of any of it! The President is doing all he can for the American people! The Democrats are obstructionists and certifiably insane with Russian fever. The Republicans are worse because they own the House and the Senate and yet can’t get any significant bills passed.
Failed Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blew their first 200 days and accomplished nothing material.Â
They need to be replaced by Republicans in Congress or they will be replaced by a Russian Fever Infested Democrat Congress instead.
