In the spirit of President Trump’s ‘Drain the Swamp’ credo or ‘Drain the Sewer,’ as the new motto goes, House conservatives are plotting a new offensive to investigate former FBI Director James Comey and former Attorney General Loretta Lynch.
According to Breibart News:
Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Jim Jordan (R-OH) have drafted an amendment that would compel government cooperation with a congressional probe into Lynch’s and Comey’s activities.
Specifically, the amendment—a draft of which was obtained by Breitbart News—would compel the production of documents and evidence regarding Lynch’s order to Comey to “mislead the American people by starting he should refer to the investigation into the mishandling of classified data and use of an unauthorized email server by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as a ‘matter,’ rather than a criminal ‘investigation.’”
The amendment specifically presses the Department of Justice to cooperate with the congressional investigation this would create, making it easier for Attorney General Jeff Sessions to probe these and the other matters laid out.
President Donald Trump has very publicly expressed displeasure with the lack of action on the investigative front into these matters. His latest tension with Attorney General Jeff Sessions has centered on Sessions’ recusal on the Russia investigation, which led to the eventual appointment of the special prosecutor Mueller. Now, these Trump allies in Congress are stepping up and creating a way for Sessions to help them get to the bottom of these matters. It remains unclear whether Speaker Paul Ryan will stand in the way of this investigation.
As TGP previously reported, fired FBI Director James Comey told the Senate Intel Committee in June that he asked a friend of his to leak to a memo he kept regarding his conversation with President Trump to the press.
Comey admitted this after Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), asked him why he kept the memos. She then asked if he ever shared any of them outside the DOJ.
Of course this was leaked to the New York Times. They ran with the story that Trump was pushing Comey to drop the Flynn investigation.
Daniel C. Richman confirmed to the Washington Examiner that he was Comey’s friend at Columbia. He has been referred to in the New York Times as a “longtime confidant and friend of Mr. Comey’s,” and his bio at Columbia’s website lists him as an “adviser to FBI Director James B. Comey.”
Even worse, fired FBI Director, James Comey had a SECOND meeting with former Attorney General Loretta Lynch where he confronted her about her election interference.
According to the report, when confronted, Loretta Lynch stared at Comey with a ‘steely silence that lasted for some time’ before she asked him to leave her office.

Ex-FBI Director James Comey has privately told members of Congress that he had a frosty exchange with Obama Attorney General Loretta Lynch last year when he confronted her about possible political interference in the Hillary Clinton email investigation after showing Lynch a sensitive document she was unaware the FBI possessed, according to sources who were directly briefed on the matter.
In multiple private sessions over the last few months, Comey has told lawmakers about a second, later confrontation with Lynch shortly before the email probe was shut down.
Comey told lawmakers in the close door session that he raised his concern with the attorney general that she had created a conflict of interest by meeting with Clinton’s husband, the former President Bill Clinton, on an airport tarmac while the investigation was ongoing.
During the conversation, Comey told lawmakers he confronted Lynch with a highly sensitive piece of evidence, a communication between two political figures that suggested Lynch had agreed to put the kibosh on any prosecution of Clinton.
Comey said “the attorney general looked at the document then looked up with a steely silence that lasted for some time, then asked him if he had any other business with her and if not that he should leave her office,” said one source who was briefed.
