GOP Rep. DeSantis Reveals ‘Big Names’ Hauled in Front Of Congress Over White House Leaks

Could we begin to see Congress plug the leaky Trump White House? In an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt, GOP Congressman Ron DeSantis revealed he and his colleagues are ready to bring ‘big names’ to testify in front of the House Oversight Committee.

Washington Examiner reports:

During an interview with MSNBC’s Hugh Hewitt, DeSantis admitted he’s spoken to his committee’s chairman, Trey Gowdy of South Carolina, about it, and while he would defer to Gowdy to identify people of interest, he did say the panel has brought in some “big names.”

“They’re doing a lot more than what the press knows in terms of some of the people they have brought in,” DeSantis said. “They’ve brought in some big names that I’m not authorized to say.”

Hewitt had asked DeSantis about Rhodes in particular because of an interview he did recently with the Washington Free Beacon in which he accused Rhodes of being a primary source of the leaks causing harm to the Trump administration and called on Trump to remove all Obama official holdovers from his administration.

This week, DeSantis called for a full investigation into former FBI Director James Comey’s alleged ‘Trump memo’ leaks of classified information.

The Washington Free Beacon reported:

The chairman of the House National Security Subcommittee is calling on the Department of Justice to launch a formal investigation into former FBI Director James Comey’s alleged leak of classified information, according to an exclusive interview with the Washington Free Beacon in which the lawmaker also called on the Trump administration to purge all former Obama administration holdovers from government.

Rep. Ron DeSantis (R., Fla.), a member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and chair of its National Security subcommittee, is urging Attorney General Jeff Sessions to launch a full scale investigation into Comey’s handling of a series of potentially classified memos that were leaked to the press earlier this year.

Comey admitted in testimony before Congress that he leaked these memos in order to spur an investigation into the Trump administration’s alleged collusion with Russia during the 2016 campaign. Reports alleging these memos contained classified information has riled congressional Republicans and spurred new calls for an investigation into Comey.

DeSantis’ mission to stop White House leaks and unlawful spying is not new, as the Congressman was very vocal about Susan Rice’s alleged unmasking, calling for criminal investigation in April.

As reported by The Gateway Pundit:

Ron DeSantis: She said intelligence wasn’t used for political purposes. We know that’s false. There were a number of leaks of classified information involving US persons including Michael Flynn that are illegal… I think she dug herself more of a hole because two weeks ago she said she never heard of any type of unmasking.
