Independent journalist Mike Cernovich and writer/reporter for Sputnik, Cassandra Fairbanks posted a picture of themselves in the White House press room doing the ‘ok’ symbol and the left went crazy.
They were immediately called ‘white supremacists’. Emma Roller, a senior reporter for Fusion sent out a tweet, ignorantly saying, “just two people doing a white power hand gesture in the White House’. This tweet went viral and as of this moment has nearly 5,000 retweets. This tweet eventually caught the eye of ‘The Independent’ because they did a hit piece on both Mike Cernovich and Cassandra Fairbanks.
See how fake news is started?
The Independent wrote an article smearing them with this title:
Two members of alt-right accused of making white supremacist hand signs in White House after receiving press passes
Excerpts from The Independent article:
The journalists say the hand symbol is innocent – but it has been condemned as ‘racist’ by the Anti-Defamation League
Freelance journalist Mike Cernovich and Cassandra Fairbanks, a reporter for Russian news outlet Sputnik, posed for a picture behind the podium in the White House briefing room. In the photo, they are making a hand sign that can be used to signify “white power.”
“Just two people doing a white power hand gesture in the White House,” Fusion senior reporter Emma Roller tweeted, alongside a screenshot of the picture.
Ms Fairbanks, however, claims the hand gesture was not a reference to the white power movement. She pointed to her partial Puerto Rican heritage as evidence that she is not a white supremacist.
“White power!!!!!!! Except I’m Puerto Rican. Can it be PR power?!” she tweeted.
Ms Fairbanks’ supporters point out that the hand symbol is also used to mean “OK.” Photos show people of all races using the symbol to signify that everything is “alright.”
The Independent even took a swipe at TGP White House Correspondent, Lucian Wintrich referencing a photo of him in the White House Press room:
Alt-right journalist Lucian Wintrich, a writer for The Gateway Pundit, sparked outcry when he flashed the symbol in a similar picture at the White House in February. Notorious alt-right personality Milo Yiannopoulos also frequently flashes the symbol.
The Independent even claimed that the ADL characterizes the ‘ok’ symbol as a ‘racist hand sign’…not true!
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) characterises the symbol as a “racist hand sign.”
Some of the reaction on Twitter:
This is literally fake news. The ADL does NOT classify the “ok” sign as a white power symbol https://t.co/W9MrJMsWAT

TGP interviewed Sputnik writer/reporter, Cassandra Fairbanks about her plans to sue The Independent and possibly the Fusion reporter and or Fusion for starting the lies.
Cassandra Fairbanks’ lawyer Robert Barnes commented to TGP regarding the impending suit:
“The First Amendment is meant for the Cassandras of the journalism world: independent, honest, alternative voices. The First Amendment is not a wholly owned property of elite-backed journalists to smear and slime their adversaries with libels and lies. Each of the reporters who libeled and lied about Cassandra are soon to find that out.”
Fairbanks commented once more saying:
“A huge part of why Trump supporters keep being violently attacked is because of the mainstream media painting all of us as ‘white supremacists’, they are are complicit in this mob violence. The only way to fight back and stop this is to start filing lawsuits and make them scared to report these dangerous lies.”
