Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) announced plans to introduce legislation to dramatically slash the US immigration cap.
Cotton wants to cap the number of refugees at 50,000 per year.

U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton plans to introduce legislation that would sharply decrease legal immigration into the United States.
Called the Reforming American Immigration for Strong Employment Act, the measure would eliminate a lottery system that awards U.S. permanent resident cards to 50,000 people each year.
In addition, it would cap the number of refugees at 50,000 per year.
