This was weird.
Alexander Yan-Nan Wang, a student at Baruch College, was arrested on Monday entering Trump tower with a backpack filled with weapons. Wang majors in entrepreneurial management and is on the men’s cross country team. He also describes himself as a survivalist.

On December 12, 2016, Wang was arrested at Trump tower, New York after police discovered he was carrying weapons, a firework, and restraining tools in his backpack when he went through the metal detector. At the time of his arrest, Wang told police that he was only in the building because he likes to study there, and that as a survivalist he carries the items with him all the time.
Alexander Wang was stopped on Monday at around 6.35pm and found to be carrying a hunting knife, a wire used for strangling, eight feet of black rope, handcuffs, an M-100 firework and a water pistol. Police raided his apartment and found more fireworks in an ammo box. Wang was carrying a garrote – a weapon that typically has handles at either end to stop the user’s fingers from being cut on the wire as they strangle their victim – was made from.
