A car ran over a protester standing in the middle of West Florissant Avenue in Ferguson, Missouri Tuesday night and drove on. Moments later as the protesters gathered to tend to the run-over protester gun shots were fired. The panicked protesters scattered. It was not clear if it was a protester firing or if the protesters were being fired on. There are some claims the gun shots were directed at the hit and run driver.
There no initial reports of anyone wounded by the gunfire.
