UPDATES: All Clear After LAX Evacuated Over Reports of Shots Fired — PHOTOS

Los Angeles International Airport was evacuated Sunday night in reaction to unconfirmed reports of shots fired. Passengers at the airport posted photos and videos of the reaction to the terror scare.

“Terminals 1,5,7,8 lockdown at LAX @CBSLA I’m terminal 5 @Delta our pilot says ramps shutdown but has no other information.”

“Safely evacuated from #LAX United Club. sheltered and blocked doors. 10 cops with assault rifles escorted us out”


“Hundreds evacuating onto runway currently at #LAX”

“LAX going off.”


“At LAX with an active shooter.. My wife and I dropped our bags and ran as fast as we could out of the terminal”

Airport police posted two statements:

“Reports of active shooter at LAX unconfirmed. Police investigating @flyLAXairport”

“Police searching LAX after reports. All precautions being taken to ensure safety of public. Remain calm. Thank you for your cooperation”



“Report of shooting at LAX proven to be LOUD NOISES only No Shots Fired No Injuries investigation continues to locate source”

“Passing emergency responders on our way back into the terminal. TSA keeps the crowd moving #lax”

“People looking for each other and any bags left behind in the confusion. Everyone waiting on directions #lax”

“Everyone moving past security. If we’re all going to be screened before flights leave, this could be a long night”

NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt got caught up in the terror scare.

“Arriving at LAX off flight when people started pouring out of term 4 onto Tarmac. Security said “shots fired. Run!” Now in vehicle on taxiwy”

“Witness tells me she heard “pops” in lax term 4. Others say they just heard “run!” Those evacuated to Tarmac just allowed back in.”

“Safely off the LAX Tarmac. PD search of terminals yields no confirm of shots fired. I heard “run” as crowd ran toward us but no shots.”
