A new ad from a gun control group shows a little girl portrayed as Alice from Alice in Wonderland finding a handgun and promptly shooting herself in the face.

Anti-Gun Ad Features Alice in Wonderland Shooting Herself in the Face
The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence published the ad titled Alice PSA to its YouTube page Thursday. In it, Alice can be seen following the white rabbit through wonderland when she comes upon a room with a cabinet. In the cabinet she finds a gun, which she then shoots herself in the face with.
“Over one-third of all American households have a gun,” a voiceover says as Alice pulls the trigger. “Ask your neighbor: Is there a gun where they play? Asking saves kids.”
The Brady Campaign said the ad was a response to fairy tales which were rewritten by an author on one of the National Rifle Association’s blogs where characters from classic stories defend themselves and others with firearms.
“You’ve probably heard that the corporate gun lobby is marketing guns to children. Its latest tactic: rewriting classic fairy tales to put guns in the hands of Little Red Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretel,” Dan Gross, Brady Campaign president, said in an email to supporters. “The NRA dreams of a world where every American–adult or child–is armed to the teeth. But the reality is that 50 children and teens are shot every day in this country. Their #NRAFairyTale is more like a nightmare.”
