Ted Cruz is staunchly pro-Israel (Politico)
Jewish Democrats and liberal organizations are coordinating an attack on Ted Cruz based on his religious associations.
The Texas senator has been touting the backing of Mike Bickle, a man who seeks to convert Jews to Christianity, who predicts there will be another era of concentration camps, and who has said that Hitler was sent by God to hunt Jews.
“It is profoundly troubling that Sen. Ted Cruz proudly trumpeted the endorsement of such a controversial figure who holds such offensive views,” the National Jewish Democratic Council, a lobbying group committed to promoting Jewish values and interests within the Democratic party, said in a statement.
The Anti-Defamation League also piled on:
“Mike Bickle’s views about why God allowed Jews to be killed in the Holocaust, as expressed in a 2011 speech, are abhorrent, intolerant and unacceptable,” the organization said in a statement. “We assume that Senator Cruz accepted Bickle’s endorsement without knowing about these comments. We hope that when these comments are called to the Senator’s attention, he will clearly and forcefully reject Bickle’s hateful ideas.” [MORE…]
Of course, back when it was a Democrat hanging out with an anti-semite, the ADL took a decidedly different approach in their condemnation. Whereas above they’re demanding action from Ted Cruz, when it came to Rev. Jeremiah Wright the ADL only condemned the hate preacher. They demanded NOTHING of Obama who embraced Wright extremely closely.
ADL Expresses Outrage At Reverend Wright’s Hateful And Inflammatory Comments
Chicago, IL, June 11, 2009 The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) said that Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s comments claiming that “Them Jews” are preventing him from communicating with President Barack Obama are “inflammatory and false.”
Lonnie Nasatir, Director of the ADL Greater Chicago/Upper Midwest Region, issued the following statement:
Reverend Wright’s comments claiming that “Them Jews” are preventing him from communicating with President Obama are inflammatory and false. The notions of Jewish control of the White House in Reverend Wright’s statement express classic anti-Semitism in its most vile form. In a short succinct sentence, Reverend Wright manages to both label some of the President’s closest advisors solely by their religious beliefs and give them powers superior to the President himself.It is too bad, that at a time when our country needs to come together, Reverend Wright chooses to incite and pull communities farther apart.
Why does Obama get a pass but Cruz is on the hook? Maybe it’s because the National Director of the ADL is an Obama operative?
