The Greenville Journal reported on the rally.
Trump highlighted his bona fides as a businessman and warned of losing jobs to China and Mexico.
He said China was actively trying to get Boeing, one of the largest employers in South Carolina, to send jobs there.
“Here’s what’s going to happen to Boeing—because I really like Boeing and I know you worked really hard to get Boeing,” he said. “ But China now is insisting that in order to get the big order, that Boeing build a massive plant in China.”
Trump talked about being a strong military and advocated for waterboarding.
“I don’t think waterboarding’s tough enough. I think we need to be much tougher,” Trump said.
He called the Iraq invasion a mistake because it destabilized the region. He said the removal of Saddam Hussein from Iraq didn’t help because the dictator helped keep Iran under control and he killed terrorists.
“He found a terrorist and they were gone within five seconds,” he said. “With us, we find a terrorist and it’s going to be 25 years for the trial. And by the way, by the way, South Carolina, we are not moving any people from Gitmo to South Carolina.”
Trump also hit his some of his signature positions like banning Muslim immigrants and building a wall on the Mexican border.
