LePage told reporters Trump could be “one of the greatest presidents ever.”
Talking Points Memo reported:
On the heels of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential bid, Maine Gov. Paul LePage said on conservative talk radio Friday afternoon that he also backs Trump.
Multiple journalists reported that LePage endorsed Trump on conservative radio host Howie Carr’s show.
“I was Donald Trump before Donald Trump became popular,” LePage reportedly told Carr.
The Washington Post also reported that LePage said in his radio endorsement Trump could be “one of the greatest presidents ever.”
The announcement came after Governor Chris Christie endorsed Donald Trump earlier in the day.
