Pro gun students at George Mason University turned out to protest Obama’s invite-only town hall on “gun violence”. The facebook event page for the protest was started just 1 day before the town hall.
Grad student JB Merriman says yellow tape surrounding the Johnson Center had been up since 3:00 PM, and students weren’t allowed in. “I’m here to protest the unconstitutional end run-around Congress he’s attempting with trying to define an FFL and ignoring Congress and the people on this issue,” he says. “Also to show support for the 2nd Amendment as a responsible gun owner and show solidarity with my fellow gun owners.”
Approximately 20 Obama supporters showed up to rally in support of the event, and Merriman says that none of them wanted to engage in any conversation or debate with the pro gun bunch.
