Trump Right Again: Fear of ‘Racially Profiling’ Middle Easterners Stopped Calls that Could Have Prevented Cali Attack

Leading Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump caught flak last week for telling supporters at a Nov. 24 rally in Myrtle Beach, S.C. they should report their neighbors to the police if they observe suspicious activity. Reports from Wednesday night state that fears of racially profiling Middle Easterners prevented a neighbor and workmen from calling the police about suspicious activity at the apartment of the Muslim couple accused in the San Bernardino mass shooting. The shooting, which killed 14 and wounded 17 people, is being investigated as a possible terror attack.

Trump was reported as saying in the context of terrorism:

“The real greatest resource is all of you, because you have all those eyes and you see what’s happening. People move into a house a block down the road, you know who’s going in. You can see and you report them to the local police.

“You’re pretty smart, right? We know if there’s something going on, report them. Most likely you’ll be wrong, but that’s OK. That’s the best way. Everybody’s their own cop in a way. You’ve got to do it. You’ve got to do it.”

Time gave Trump’s remarks this inflammatory headline:

Donald Trump Encourages People to Spy on Their Neighbors

Fusion headlined their article smearing Trump:

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Donald Trump suggests calling the police on your neighbors

The Hill gave Trump’s remarks a straightforward headline:

Trump: Report your neighbors for suspicious activities

Fox News reporter Will Carr in San Bernardino reported Wednesday night that neighbors observed “middle easterners” recently moved in and received a lot of package deliveries.

One neighbor was suspicious but leftist social conditioning caused her to not call police because she told herself she was ‘racially profiling’ her new neighbors.

“Neighbors: 3-4 “middle easterners” had recently moved into the apt of interest. getting a lots of package deliveries #SanBernardino”

“.@KNX1070 reporting a neighbor did not call authorities about suspicious activity bc she did not want to racially profile #SanBernardino”

KNX-AM also reported a man working in the neighborhood said he and his co-workers grew suspicious of a half-dozen “Middle Eastern men” coming and going from the apartment but again leftist social conditioning caused them to not report the suspicious activity.

“A man who has been working in the area said he noticed a half-dozen Middle Eastern men in the area in recent weeks, but decided not to report anything since he did not wish to racially profile those people.

““We sat around lunch thinking, ‘What war (sic) they doing around the neighborhood?’” he said. “We’d see them leave where they’re raiding the apartment.””
