Nutty Obama: Because of Global Warming – Fish Are Swimming in Streets of Miami
Far Left President Barack Obama told reporters in Paris that because of global warming fish are swimming in the streets in Miami.
Fishy streets in Thailand
Yes. He really said this.
“You go down to Miami and when it’s flooding at high tide on a sunny day, the fish are swimming through the middle of the streets.”
What a nut.
The Wall Street Journal reported:
“You go down to Miami and when it’s flooding at high tide on a sunny day, the fish are swimming through the middle of the streets,” President Obama claimed at a press conference this morning. We go down to Miami with some frequency and have never seen any such thing. And believe us, we know how to troll.
The fish story is not the only bizarre assertion to come from the president during the “climate change” conference in Paris. Yesterday he opened a speech at the gathering by suggesting the powwow itself was a way of fighting terrorism:
We offer our condolences to the people of France for the barbaric attacks on this beautiful city. We stand united in solidarity not only to deliver justice to the terrorist network responsible for those attacks but to protect our people and uphold the enduring values that keep us strong and keep us free. And we salute the people of Paris for insisting this crucial conference go on—an act of defiance that proves nothing will deter us from building the future we want for our children. What greater rejection of those who would tear down our world than marshaling our best efforts to save it?
That made even Mother Jones a bit incredulous.
The Miami Herald corrected the far left president and his global warming folklore.
While Miami Beach has certainly suffered from sunny-day floods during high tides, recent reports about fish swimming in the street have come from further north in Broward County and are far from widespread. No one’s pulling out their fishing rods on the road.
WSVN-FOX 7 reported in September that a mullet was spotted swimming in Fort Lauderdale. A member of the Miami Herald and WLRN radio’s Public Insight Networkreported in October that she saw fish in the streets of Hollywood during a king tide.
Former Vice President Al Gore told the public radio show The Takeaway last week: “I was in Miami last month and fish from the ocean were swimming on some of the streets on a sunny day because it was a high tide. In Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale, many other places – that happens regularly.” “Regularly” sounds like a bit of a stretch.
As Newt Gingrich says, “He’s delusional.”
