34-year-old Jarvis Hall was reportedly armed with a hand gun and knife when the shooting occurred.

One police officer is dead following a shooting Wednesday morning at the Richland Mall in Forest Acres, South Carolina which is near Columbia.
Forest Acres Police Department officers were called to the scene for a report of a suspicious person.
According to Columbia ABC affiliate WOLO, the officer has been identified as 32-year-old Greg Alia, who a seven-year veteran of the Forest Acres Police Department. The report also says Alia was married with a new baby.
During a news conference Wednesday afternoon, Police Chief Gene Sealy identifed the shooting suspect as 34-year-old Jarvis Hall, who was reportedly armed with hand gun and knife when the shooting occurred. Sealy said Hall was taken into custody at the scene.
