While Obama Vacations in New York City, GOP Governors Act to Protect Troops

President Barack Obama took a fundraising vacation to New York City the day after an Islamist terror attack on military offices in Chattanooga, Tennessee killed five servicemen without taking steps to protect the men and women in uniform serving under him.

The Pentagon said after the attacks that it would not arm recruiters nor add security guards at recruiting centers. The Marine Corps also reportedly ordered recruiters to not wear their uniforms at work.

In contrast, three Republican governors have taken swift action to protect troops under their command, ordering that they be armed.

Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson and Florida Governor Rick Scott each issued executive orders arming full-time National Guard troops.

Meanwhile in New York City Obama has headlined a fundraiser, dined in Greenwich Village, toured a museum and taken a stroll in Central Park.

Obama plans to attend a Broadway play Saturday afternoon while Republican governors act to protect troops he has left vulnerable to terrorist attacks.
