Obama Says He’s Just Like Reagan – Here are the Top Five Reasons He Doesn’t Even Come Close

Guest post by Joe Hoft

BO and Reagan Time

The Democrat-media complex is working overtime to paint Barack Obama’s time in office as a success. The administration is even trying to convince Americans that Obama is just like Ronald Reagan. Obama said so himself earlier this month. The far left president said he thinks he’s led a new Reagan revolution.

Of course, the comparisons to Ronald Reagan are ludicrous.
Here are the top five reasons why Obama does not come close to Ronald Reagan.

1.) Reagan took down the Iron Wall – Obama created ISIS

Who can forget Ronald Reagan’s famous speech at the Berlin Wall, telling the Soviets, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall”? Reagan is credited with defeating Communism. Obama on the other hand pulled troops from Iraq. As a result, Obama left a vacuum filled by ISIS.  He now denies it was his idea to remove troops from Iraq in the first place.

2.) Reagan grew the GDP – Obama Stalled GDP

Trickle Down Economics vs Trickle Down Socialism

Ronald Reagan’s economic plan saw GDP surge at a 3.5% clip – 4.9% after the recession. That’s a 32% bump.

During the Obama years, due to his big government policies, the US economy has stalled. The US economy has grown an anemic rate – around 2.0% (excluding the decline in GDP in the 1st Quarter of 2015).

3.) Reagan got the American hostages Out of Iran – Obama left American hostages to rot in Iranian jail cells

Reagan Inageral

“On January 20, 1981, Iran released 52 Americans who had been held hostage for 444 days, minutes after Ronald Reagan took control of the United States.  The hostages were placed on a plane in Tehran as Reagan delivered his inaugural address.”

Obama along with Secretary of State Kerry worked hard to give the terrorist regime in Iran everything they asked for their sham nuclear agreement.  The US will provide Iran billions in compensation.  Obama told reporters he refused to bring up the American hostages with the Khamenei regime during negotiations.

4.) Reagan Created Jobs – Obama Killed Job Creation

Job Growth Chart

Of course, Obama’s record on job growth is abysmal.

Net job growth has declined under Obama. By the end of the second year of their terms as president, economic growth under Reagan averaged 7.1% , under Obama an anemic 2.8% . (IJ Review)

Today, more than five years into the tepid recovery, labor-force participation remains at its lowest level since 1978 during the Carter years.

5.) Reagan Bombed Libya and Kept it in Check – Obama Bombed Libya and Gave it to ISIS

Reagan acted decisively when Libya killed US soldiers at a German discotheque. He bombed the Gaddaffi regime and vowed to protect Americans around the globe.

Obama on the other hand, bombed Libya when there was no threat from Gaddaffi.  Libya had committed no recent acts of aggression against the US. Libya volunteered to allow inspectors into the country after the US stood up to Iraq during the GW Bush years. As a result of Obama bombing Libya, ISIS is now in charge of the country and four Americans were murdered in Benghazi needlessly with the perpetrators being labeled rioters and not terrorists.

After six years in office it is clear Obama is nothing like Ronald Reagan.
Obama took the exact opposite actions as Reagan and the US and international community are left to deal with the disastrous results.
