Mike Flynn is running for the GOP nomination to replace Aaron Shock, in Illinois district IL-18.
Mike is running against GOP establishment candidate, Darin Lahood, who is the son of Obama’s former transportation secretary Ray Lahood and a current state senator.
Darin Lahood is funded by the establishment PAC Main Street Partnership and has a substantial amount of money. The district is solid Republican so the winner of the primary will win the seat. The primary election is July 7.
Many people know Mike from his Breitbart days. Mike started Big Government with Andrew Breitbart back in 2009.
In 2009, Mike joined with web pioneer Andrew Breitbart to launch BigGovernment.com, one of the nation’s most influential conservative websites. He’s published more than two dozen research studies on government policy, with a particular emphasis on government tax and spending policies. He has testified numerous times before U.S. Congress and dozens state legislatures and his research has been cited by the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, New York Times and dozens of other newspapers, periodicals and trade journals.
Mike’s career has been spent at the nexus of government, business, politics and media. This experience gives him a thorough grasp of the challenges facing the nation and the steps that can be taken to improve the economy and strengthen the foundations of American exceptionalism.
