FOX 2 Now reported:
A group seeking the recall of Ferguson Mayor James Knowles has failed to meet the required signatures needed to file the petition, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The newspaper tweeted that County election Chief Eric Fey says they had 1,008 of the 1,814 needed.
A spokesman for “Ground Level Support” told FOX 2 last month that they gathered about 2,200 signatures. This means that many of the signatures filed were invalid.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 62 did not come from registered voters. Fey says that over 300 were dismissed because they were not from voters registered in Ferguson.
