New Charges for Naked Democratic Shooter–
Virgil Smith is Chair of legislative black caucus.
A Detroit Police Department source told Local 4 that officials are investigating a shooting at Michigan senator Virgil Smith’s home in Detroit.
The source said around 1 a.m. Smith got into an argument with his girlfriend and fired several shots with a shotgun, hitting her 2015 Mercedes Benz. It happened in the 18000 block of Wexford Avenue in Detroit.
The Domestic Violence division is handling the investigation, which began Sunday morning, the source said.
Smith has not been arrested, and police have been unable to contact his girlfriend.
Police told our Shawn Ley that they want to question Smith about the incident. They said the victim of the alleged shooting is a prominent Ann Arbor businesswoman.

Senator Smith was arrested on Monday.
Naked Shooter faces more charges…..
State Sen. Virgil Smith, suspected of firing shots at his ex-wife’s Mercedes-Benz early Sunday morning, is facing felonious assault, domestic violence and other charges, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
Smith, 35, is expected to be arraigned at 2:30 p.m. today, prosecutors said.
“The alleged actions of Senator Smith cannot and will not be tolerated,” Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said in a statement. “We asked for further work on the warrant and the information was received this morning. We let the facts and evidence guide our charging decision and nothing else.”
In addition to felonious assault and domestic violence, Smith is also charged with malicious destruction of personal property $20,000 or more and felony firearm in the incident, which occurred at 1 a.m. Sunday.
