This weekend Right Online awarded me with their 2015 Andrew Breitbart Award.
Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow presented the award on Saturday Night. Alex mentioned my health challenges and relationship with Andrew during his speech.
James O’Keefe III joined us backstage before the presentation.

Americans for Prosperity Foundation has selected Gateway Pundit Jim Hoft to receive the Breitbart Award for Excellence in Online Journalism at this year’s RightOnline conference in Washington, DC on May 1 and 2. Breitbart.com Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow will present the award to Hoft, who recently battled health issues but has continued to be a leading small-government advocate online.
AFP Foundation CEO Luke Hilgemann said the award is “is all about honoring Andrew’s contributions, and it will prove memorable to hear from Jim Hoft, who has followed in those footsteps and been so effective online.”
RightOnline, the tech conference for liberty-minded Americans, is returning this year with an expanded vision aimed at arming conservatives with the tools they need to spread the message of freedom on digital platforms.
The conference, sponsored by Americans for Prosperity Foundation, will be held at the Marriott Marquis in downtown Washington, DC. The group said the conference will feature some of the biggest names in the free-market movement, as well as top tech industry professionals who will equip attendees with skills to take them to the next level in the rapidly changing world of online advocacy.
Hilgemann told Breitbart the event would be unlike anything freedom advocates had attended before.
I’s like to thank the many attendees at Right Online for their kind words and support this past weekend.
It’s great to be back!
I first met Andrew in 2007. We traveled together to Israel with his best friend Larry Solov and others.
He became a good friend and I shared a couple humorous stories on stage on Saturday.
Seated: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Scott Johnson from Power Line in the background. Standing (l-r) Andrew Breitbart– Breitbart.com and The Drudge Report, Andrew’s friend Larry Solov, Jeff Emanuel from RedState and myself. We toured Israel as guests of America’s Voices and Voices for Israel organizations.
This was quite an honor.
The conservative movement lost an irreplaceable leader when Andrew Breitbart left us in 2012.
I lost a friend and colleague.
Thank you, Americans for Prosperity for this distinguished award.
