Vandals torched a Central Florida Church on Tuesday and wrote “Allahu Akbar” on a nearby building.

A possible hate crime is investigated after fire was set at a Central Florida church and “Allahu Akbar” was written nearby.
The incident happened around 3 a.m. Tuesday at the New Shiloh Christian Center in Melbourne. About 1,500 members attend the church.
Fire sprinklers helped contain the flames to a storage unit connected to the 125,000-square-foot building.
The words “Allahu Akbar” were found written on a nearby storage container. “Allahu Akbar” is an Arabic phrasetypically translated as “God is great” and is a common expression used in various contexts.
Damages were estimated to be about $5,000.
