CNN’s Deborah Feyerick reported on audio tapes released of a man trying to recruit an American to go to Somalia to join Al-Shabaab.
The terrorist told Tarek Mehanna, “A wife is waiting for you.”
Tarek Mehanna was convicted of conspiracy to provide material support to al-Qaeda, providing material support to terrorists , conspiracy to commit murder in a foreign country, conspiracy to make false statements to the FBI, and two counts of making false statements. He was sentenced in 2012.
