CNN’s John King says D.C. Democrats are Growing Weary of Obama and his Lack of Leadership Skills

Obama Nuts

On Sunday’s edition of CNN’s Inside Politics, chief national correspondent John King reported that many D.C. Democrats are privately calling President Obama (and his administration) “detached” and “incompetent.”

From Newsmax.com:

“ … Democrats have been saying privately since the Healthcare.gov opening debacle that ‘they see a president who doesn’t want to command, doesn’t want to act fast.’ Some Democrats who believe in bigger government are saying the White House ‘doesn’t appear to have its hand on the lever.’

“One of King’s panelists, Maggie Haberman of Politico, pointed to Obama’s ‘tepid’ press conference on the VA scandal last week, saying he was ‘sort of in, sort of not in with (Secretary of Veteran Affairs) Eric Shinseki.’ Obama also had a meeting with senators on foreign policy last week that he did not show up for.”

Perhaps the Democrats are paying the price for nominating a presidential candidate with an engaging personality and strong speaking skills (with a teleprompter), but no executive experience. Prior to working in government, Obama was primarily a community organizer and college instructor. Then there were very short stints in the Illinois Senate and U.S. Senate before he found his way to the White House.

President Obama has simply been overwhelmed by events, to the point where, as Charles Krauthammer once said, he’s almost become an uninvolved spectator of his own presidency. He probably doesn’t mean to seem so arrogant and detached. He just doesn’t have a clue about how to take command, formulate and implement coherent policy, and be accountable for his performance.
