The deadline is midnight Monday to sign up for private health insurance in the new online markets created by President Barack Obama’s health-care law. So far, about 4 of every 5 people enrolling have qualified for tax credits to reduce the cost of their premiums.
“HealthCare.gov marketplace application and enrollment system is currently unavailable. The tech team is working now to bring the system online as soon as possible,” the Department of Health and Human Services said in a statement Monday morning.
By about 8 a.m. ET, the enrollment system was back up and running. The online application had been unavailable since 3:20 a.m.
