During a debate today on the immigration reform bill submitted by the “Gang of Eight,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) took to the Senate floor and said Democrats know the bill in its current form doesn’t have a chance to pass in the House of Representatives.
“There are not 218 votes in the House of Representatives to pass a pathway to citizenship. My friends on the Democratic side of the aisle know that, but I think they’ve made a political judgment that they want to campaign on the issue rather than rolling up their sleeves and saying, ‘How do we actually get a bill that could pass into law?'”
