Today we lost a true patriot and one of the leaders of the conservative activist movement.
Parker “Chip” Gerdes passed away this morning.
Chip Gerdes (TookieW on Twitter) and Dana Loesch listen in as Andrew Breitbart discusses liberal media bias in Nashville, Tennessee back in 2009.
Chip worked on campaigns and operated behind the scenes to secure freedom and push the conservative cause. His contact list was extensive from local Illinois GOP leaders to Drudge and The Daily Caller. He excelled at his work and had a wicked sense of humor.
Chip was especially close to the St. Louis conservative activist community.

This morning Dana and Chris Loesch called to tell me the sad news.
Rest in Peace, Dear Chip.
We will miss you. We will miss you, dearly.
Twitchy has more on our friend Chip.
And… Dana Loesch posted a beautiful tribute to our friend.
He met adversity with a fist, especially for his friends. There are only two people in this modern movement who were so steadfast in the face of it all, they are now both gone. Any time is always too soon for such a man. We saw him just this weekend. You never think a final goodbye is just that, but I’m glad we got one.

UPDATE: Blogger extraordinaire Jeremy Segal sent this photo of Chip at a rally.
Of course, they were talking about this crazy loon.
