On Monday Mike Huckabee had his panties in a bunch, telling his radio audience he was “very disappionted” in Bristol for not coming on the his radio program to talk about her new reality show. Bristol said she was never told she was scheduled to appear and that she spent the night at her brother Track’s house because it was his last night home before being deployed to Afghanistan. Patheos reported:
We had earlier in the hour that Bristol Palin would be joining us about a new reality t.v. show that she’s going to be doing.
And apparently, she just didn’t show up.
So guess what? I don’t guess we’ll be watching tomorrow when her new show lines up.
Too bad.
Huckabee tried to give a reason why it was acceptable to attack Bristol:
There’s a different story once the child decides, “Hey, I like this spotlight. I like the limelight. I want to have more of it,” then, you know, they become fair game.
Then they are there by their own choice and their own volition. So if you go on Dancing with the Stars, or go on a lecture tour, or do a reality show, then, all bets are off…
Bristol says she was contacted by Mike Huckabee’s radio program to come on the show and she said yes but she never heard back from them.
But the fact is, his people didn’t schedule my appearance. I’d said I’d do the show, I sent them my phone number, and they apparently neglected to schedule a time. Of course, mix-ups do occur in life. Schedules aren’t communicated, errors are made.
But this isn’t the first mistake on his show. Maybe instead of lecturing me on being irresponsible, he should get his own team in line.
Then, maybe, we could talk.
But I probably would just call Rush instead.
Huckabee has made a point to go out of his way to publicly attack Sarah Palin and has made it clear he has nothing but contempt for her, he can’t even seem to understand why she gets so much attention. (Wah, what about me?) This is bullying, folks, plain and simple.
American Spectator asks a great question, “When will Huckabee apologize to Bristol Palin?” Sarah Palin praised her daughter on facebook saying “Bristol defends herself quite ably here.”
Bravo Sarah, you raised an outstanding daughter, we will pray for Track’s safe return home.
