The UPI reported:

Police were searching for a gunman who shot and wounded seven people at the funeral of a man stabbed to death on the Las Vegas strip, officials said.

Police spokesman Bill Cassell said the gunman had mingled with the mourners before pulling out a gun and opening fire during Wednesday’s service, the Las Vegas Sun reported. After the shooting, the gunman fled in a vehicle.

None of the six adults and one juvenile sustained life-threatening injuries, officials said.

The funeral was for Andres Armando Elena, 21, who died June 25 from a stab wound to the chest after an argument between two groups of people on the walkway between MGM Grand and New York-New York casino-resorts, police said.

Police said they weren’t sure whether the shooting was gang-related or how it was linked to Elena’s death. The department’s gang unit was investigating, the Sun reported.

KVVU has more on the shooting:

Police are looking for a 1974 Chevrolet El Camino, which fled the scene shortly after the shots were fired. Cassell said the doors were dressed with a purple background, and a smoky brown number seven. Police said the car also has chrome rims.

The vehicle was last seen heading southbound on Main Street, toward Washington.
