Did Lady Thatcher Snub Sarah Palin?… Not Likely

This smells funny.

A far left crank at The Guardian this week reported this week that “aides” to Margaret told tham that, “Lady Thatcher will not be seeing Sarah Palin… That would be belittling for Margaret – Sarah Palin is nuts.”

The Telegraph reported that the Sarah Palin snub enraged the US right.

One aide was quoted in The Guardian recently as saying: “Lady Thatcher will not be seeing Sarah Palin.

“That would be belittling for Margaret – Sarah Palin is nuts.”

After the comments were picked up in US publications, Limbaugh opened his show on Wednesday with a lengthy discussion of the issue.

“There’s a story out there today, and it’s an illustration of how things happen, how things are said and reported,” he said.

“This is preposterous, and I have personal knowledge of this.”

He went on to describe himself as a friend of Lady Thatcher, recounting how he once drove her around in a gold cart.

“Back in the day, Margaret Thatcher would in no way allow an aide to refer to anybody, Sarah Palin notwithstanding, as ‘nuts’,” he said.

I’m with Rush on this.
There’s no way this is accurate.

I sent an email to the Thatcher Foundation asking for a comment on the controversy.
I will post their statement if I hear back from them.
