MIAMI AIRPORT EVACUATED – Massive Fire at Fuel Storage Area


Firefighters battled a massive blaze at Miami International Airport on Thursday morning after a large fuel tank caught fire and exploded. It was believed to have been caused by a malfunction.

Concourse J at the airport was just evacuated.
The Miami Herald reported:

Authorities were reportedly investigating a suspicious package at Miami International Airport Thursday morning.

Aerial footage by WSVN-7 showed a large package outside of concourse J.

Miami-Dade police evacuated the area.

UPDATE: The fire is out. More than 100 firefighters were involved.  The cause is still under investigation. There were no serious injuries. The airport is now operational.  Expect delays.  40% of flights are fueled.  They will bring in more fuel from off-site depots.
