Democrats didn’t expect this…
Pelosi-Democrat Russ Carnahan, who was elected in 2004, is fighting to keep his seat in the 3rd District. Previously the seat had been held by Dick Gephardt, who represented the district for over 20 years before his retirement. Republicans are targeting this district in 2010, with Ed Martin as the party’s nominee in the 2010 general election.
It’s going to be close.
