Welcome to St. Louis!
More than 8,000 US troops packed St. Louis Lambert St. Louis International Airport this morning to catch flights home for the holidays.
Patch posted this great video of US soldiers and children singing Christmas carols outside of the USO:
Terrific!
Several local patriots welcomed the troops as they passed through St. Louis.
KSDK reported:
The service men and women are stationed at Fort Leonard Wood. The homecoming marks the first time many of the men and women will see their families since joining the service months ago.
“I can’t remember ever being this excited in my life,” Spc. Sosanka Sharma, from Houston, said.
The USO of Missouri, Inc. greeted the troops and provided food and entertainment as many of them waited to catch their flights.
Hometown favorites Jamie Allman and Dana Loesch from 97.1 FM were broadcasting live from Lambert Airport this morning.
Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus showed up to take pictures with the troops.
The Hooters girls were a big hit and took photos with the troops as they passed through on their way home for the holidays.
It was a great time.
