After the awful terrorist attack at Fort Hood this book should be required reading by our military and officials in government.
Robert Spencer’s “Stealth Jihad” examines how radical Islam is slowly threatening the foundations of Western society without the use of arms. Spencer’s research shows the intent of the radical Islamist to push Islamic Law into our culture and customs. For most Americans this may seem far fetched but we are seeing evidence of this all of the time- from the foot baths on college campuses to the actions of taxi drivers in Minnesota to refuse alcohol in their vehicle. And, we all read reports on how the military protected the radical Nidal Hasan before his terrorist attack.
In Stealth Jihad, Spencer explains that when Muslim immigrants enter our country and demand accommodations to there religion it harms the foundation of our existing American culture and freedom. When Muslims portray themselves as a prosecuted minority this helps them strip away American freedoms. And it goes without saying that the state-run media and the far left are helping these radicals in their effort. Today there are several examples of Islamic tradition forcing its way into our culture. In our public schools officials are even scheduling prayer breaks for Islamic students but ban Christian prayer. Spencer states “Islamic groups in the U.S. skillfully play the race card against those who publicize uncomfortable truths about Islam,” (page 52). Thus those who speak out against Islam are outed as racists, potentially putting Americans in harms way.
Robert Spencer’s 25 years of research on radical Islam provides us answers in understanding this threat against our way of life. In order to prevent another attack like what we witnessed at Fort Hood it is imperative that our leaders drop the political correctness and start taking this threat seriously.
