On Anniversary of Roe vs. Wade Obama Will Expand Funding of Abortions Overseas …Update: He Signed It …Update: Maybe Not

Today is the anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade Decision that overturned all state and federal laws outlawing or restricting abortion that were inconsistent with its holdings.

And, to mark the occasion it is reported that Barack Obama will expand funding of abortions overseas.
USA Today reported:

Just as anti-abortion activists swarm into Washington on Thursday, President Obama may overturn a policy that bans federal funds to non-governmental organizations for use outside the USA for abortion and birth control services or referrals.

Or he may not.

Fox News says he will here. And CNN says he will here. But no one names a source. Terry Mattingly, who keeps an watchful eye on religion coverage at the Get Religion blog, thinks the mainstream media has fallen silent on a major story on the timing of the policy switch the same day as the annual March For Life — a march by those who oppose the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision to legalize abortion. But he doesn’t name a source for the prospect of a switch, either.

Still, anyone can see hundreds of thousands of marchers pulling into town. Many are Catholic and conservative evangelicals, such as the president of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. They see the end of the ban — a policy of Republican presidents since the Reagan administration announced it in Mexico City in 1984 — as a road to more abortions.

March for Life activists are also concerned that Obama or the Congress will overturn the so-called “Conscience Rule,” signed by former President Bush last month.

That rule allows anyone in the health system — from a surgeon to a pharmacy cashier — to decline to offer a service or treatment that violates their personal conscience. (More on that here.) When Bush signed it, the Family Research Council called the rule “an early Christmas present to pro-lifers …”

But pro-choice activists also plan to make public statements this week. When the pro-life marchers arrive, they’ll find print ads (here) and radio ads (here) saying the real way to fight abortion is to reduce demand.

Barack Obama was the most radical pro-abortion and infanticide candidate in the last 35 years. Barack Obama even voted 4 times to support infanticide.

After his victory his advisors announced that one of his first moves would be to lift a ban that would swell the number abortions both here and abroad.
They weren’t kidding.

The “March for Life” organizers invited President Obama to speak at the rally today.

Under President Bush the number of abortions decreased.

UPDATE: Well, he’s not pure evil.
Obama delayed his decision to fund overseas abortions today.
He decided to wait until after the anniversary protest.

UPDATE: I take it back.
He is pure evil.
Obama signed it… On the anniversary of Roe versus Wade, Obama approved taxpayer funding of foreign abortions:

Separately, the administration in the afternoon issued a reversal of a ban on federal funding for non-governmental organizations working outside the U.S. that offer abortions or abortion counseling.

Obama signed the executive order on the 36th anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion in all 50 states.

The Wall Street Journal said it was postponed.
