Well, shocker of all shockers…
The AP lied– Muntader al-Zaidi *loves* Iran.
The Associated Press “completely lied” in its report on Muntader.
The shoe-chucker’s family spoke to the Iranian press and announced that Muntador is very much a supporter of the radical regime in Tehran.
Iranian Fars News reported:
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iraqi television reporter Muntader al-Zaidi who threw his shoes at the US president does not “hate” Iran, his brother Uday said, dismissing earlier reports by the Associated Press alleging the opposite.
AP quoted al-Zaidi’s family as saying that the reporter hated “both the US military occupation and Iran’s interference in Iraq.”
“He hates the American physical occupation as much as he hates the Iranian moral occupation… As for Iran, he considers the regime to be the other side of the American coin,” AP quoted al-Zaidi’s brother, Dhirgham, as saying.
On Saturday, Uday, al-Zaidi’s other brother, spoke to FNA and rejected the report by the Associated Press.
Uday claimed none of his family members had made any anti-Iran comments.
“AP has completely lied in its report. None of our family members has made any comments about my brother’s opinion on Iran… Muntader is a Shiite who is fond of Iran,” Uday said.

Al-Zaidi’s family comes from Sadr City.
It was previously reported that Muntader supported radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr but this was mostly ignored by the mainstream media.
Shoes of Vengeance—
The Times Online is reporting today that Al-Zaidi was incensed by a story he covered about an American soldier who used a copy of the Koran for target practice.
…So, in response, he assaulted the President of the United States.
That ought to gain him some more sympathy from the Muslim World and Far Left.
