Pelosi Falls For Drilling Hoax–
Pelosi says that she might consider allowing a vote on domestic drilling and energy development but that it would have to be part of a larger package that included other policies, like releasing oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
She did not mention whether government regulated tire inflation would be part of the plan.
For decades, Democrats have blocked efforts to responsibly develop the energy resources our country possesses, transforming vast areas of opportunity into “The No Zone.”
Over the past 30 years:
Democrats have blocked the development of new sources of petroleum.
Democrats have blocked drilling in ANWR.
Democrats have blocked drilling off the coast of Florida.
Democrats have blocked drilling off of the east coast.
Democrats have blocked drilling off of the west coast.
Democrats have blocked drilling off the Alaskan coast.
Democrats have blocked building oil refineries.
Democrats have blocked clean nuclear energy production.
Democrats have blocked clean coal production.
But, with two-thirds of Americans support offshore drilling today after gas prices soared over $4 per gallon last month. And, if there’s one thing Democrats respond to it’s polls.
Hence, Speaker Pelosi’s sudden flip-flop.
The leader of the most unpopular Congress in history made the announcement last night on Larry King.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Monday night dropped her staunch opposition to a vote on offshore oil drilling in the House.
Republicans, reacting to high gas prices, have demanded a vote on additional oil exploration in the Outer Continental Shelf, where drilling is currently blocked by a moratorium. Until now, Pelosi (D-Calif.) has resisted the idea as a “hoax.” But in an interview on CNN’s Larry King Live, she indicated that she was open to a vote.
“They have this thing that says drill offshore in the protected areas,” Pelosi said. “We can do that. We can have a vote on that.”
She indicated such a vote would have to be part of a larger package that included other policies, like releasing oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which she said could bring down prices in a matter of days.
“But it has to be part of something that says we want to bring immediate relief to the public and is not just a hoax on them,” Pelosi continued.
But, don’t hold your breath.
This would go against her plans to save Earth from make believe manmade global warming, after all.
