Fighting Breaks Out in Lebanon– At Least 6 Are Dead

At least six people were killed and several dozen injured in sectarian clashes near Tripoli, Lebanon.

After their military victories against the people of Lebanon last month, Hezbollah has vowed to continue its “defensive” campaign. From Beirut to the Beltway reported that Hezbollah was already hanging Nasrallah banners all over the newly captured neighborhoods of Beirut.

Meanwhile in Tripoli… Fighting broke out between the pro-government forces and members of the opposition allied with Hezbollah, Iran and Syria.
The BBC reported:

Security sources say another person has been killed in sectarian clashes in northern Lebanon, bringing to six the number who have died since Sunday.

Fighting on the outskirts of Tripoli has pitted Sunnis from the anti-Syrian faction against pro-Syrian Alawites.

Several homes and a petrol station were set ablaze and people fled the area.

The violence comes despite a political accord which led to the election of a president and moves towards forming a government of national unity.

Blacksmiths of Lebanon is following the latest fighting.

UPDATE: Lebanese troops moved into Tripoli on Monday after 10 people were killed in the clashes.
