On left, Bryant Purvis and Carwin Jones of The “Jena 6” have a cool time at the 2007 BET Awards that aired on BET. While on the right, the real victim in Jena, Justin Barker, suffers in the hospital after he was beaten unconscious on Dec. 4, 2006 in Jena, LA by six black students. Barker, who was cold-cocked unconscious, was treated and later released from the hospital.

I am a Congolese man in America. I own my business after 5 years here, and white men have never tried to stop me. The violent uneducated American black men are shameful. They make the world think people of my color cannot even become civilized in a country as rich as the US. Some of them have said to me that it is because they have nothing, which does not make sense. To see what it means to have nothing they should go live in djomba for a time.
