For the second time in one week, Iran lashed out at Saudi Arabia this weekend over their stand against the Iranian nuclear program.
Iranian Fars News reported:
TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- A prominent Iranian lawmaker said here on Sunday that a recent proposal raised by Saudi Arabia for the establishment of a consortium outside the region to enrich uranium for Iran and other Middle-East users has been dictated by the US.
Addressing an open session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly here on Sunday, the vice-chairman of the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Mohammad Nabi Roudaki described the Saudi proposal as “unacceptable”.
“Why should Iran’s home-grown nuclear technology be given up and why should another country enrich uranium for us,” he said, reiterating that the plan has been “dictated by the US”.
