5 Killed During Muslim "Night of Forgiveness" Ceremonies

4 Mulsim pilgrims were smashed by a truck which resulted in violent clashes that left one person dead during the “Night of Forgiveness and Atonement” ceremonies in Agra, India today.

Hopefully things will work out better next year.

The Taj Mahal was shut down due to the violence.
ADN Kronos reported:

One person was killed and at least 50 injured in the violence which began in the early hours of Wednesday morning after a truck crushed to death four men who were participating in a religious festival.

The men killed in the accident were all Muslims taking part in the festival known as Shab-e-Barat or the night of forgiveness and atonement.

During the festival Muslims visit graveyards and pray for their dead.

According to the Press Trust of India news agency, there were reports of arson as dozens of vehicles and some factories were set on fire. The authorities have also called in extra police to maintain order in the city.
